At Patuxent Renovations, we believe your master bathroom should be more than just a functional space—it should be a private sanctuary. We recently completed a full-scale master bath overhaul that took a dated, compartmentalized room and turned it into a modern, high-end retreat.

Take a look at the journey from "lived-in" to "luxury."

The Process: Stripping Back to the Studs

A true "complete renovation" means getting the foundation right. As you can see from our mid-construction progress:

  • Total Gut: We removed the platform tub, vanities, and flooring to expose the framing.
  • Mechanical Upgrades: Our team rerouted plumbing and updated electrical systems to support new lighting fixtures and high-efficiency faucets.
  • Insulation & Sealing: We ensured the exterior walls were properly insulated and sealed, improving the home’s energy efficiency before the new walls went up.
  • Exterior Integrity: This project wasn't just internal. We addressed exterior siding and moisture barriers to ensure the new bathroom remains protected from the elements for decades to come.

The "After": A Spa-Like Sanctuary

The results speak for themselves. By neutralizing the palette and focusing on clean lines, we maximized the natural light pouring in from the large lakeside window.

Key Features of the Renovation:

  • Custom Double Vanity: We installed a sleek, white shaker-style vanity topped with premium granite. The addition of dedicated drawer stacks and open legroom for the vanity chair creates a balanced, organized "his and hers" space.
  • Modernized Lighting: New recessed ceiling lights and a contemporary 4-light vanity bar provide soft, even illumination, eliminating shadows.
  • Refined Trim & Detail: We swapped dated wood tones for crisp white framing around the mirrors, instantly brightening the room and making the ceilings feel higher.
  • Seamless Transition: By updating the flooring and hardware, the bathroom now flows effortlessly into the walk-in closet and the rest of the master suite.
"Your master bath is the first place you see in the morning and the last place you visit at night. It should be a space that inspires calm."
